From Toronto to Oslo, we follow the journey of a young academic: Audrey Benac. Audrey undertakes a quest towards one forgotten woman — the acclaimed early 20th-century Canadian violinist Kathleen Parlow — as she simultaneously flees from another: her mother.
Sofia Bohdanovic delivers a film with a glacial aesthetic, unsettling rhythm, and mysterious breath. It’s a portrait of an obsession with music as an emotional landscape and a psychological study of a character marked by a difficult relationship with her mother and a total devotion to that ghostly music she has made her object of study.
