The Spanish Short Film Coordinating Committee has carried out the study Spanish Short Films in 50 Data Points, a long-awaited project within the sector that was created with the aim of measuring, for the first time, the real impact of short films on the Spanish audiovisual industry.
The study will be presented for the first time at Cinema Jove, bringing together key representatives from the main institutions of the Spanish audiovisual sector that have supported and promoted the project: DAMA, ICAA and EGEDA.
This pioneering initiative analyzes both the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of the sector, highlighting the cultural, industrial and economic relevance of short films — a format that plays a fundamental role in the development of the audiovisual landscape in Spain.
The report offers a real and up-to-date overview of the sector based on data collected through 2025–2026, outlining an analytical map structured around six major areas — production, festivals, financing, distribution, context and industrial structure — and incorporating an unprecedented set of indicators that makes it possible to accurately assess the current state of the short film industry in Spain.
Beyond its statistical and strategic value, the report also includes opinion articles written by prominent industry professionals, reinforcing its role as a tool for analysis, reflection and debate within the audiovisual industry.
