Sonia Martínez Navarro is a cultural worker, trained in Fine Arts and Communication and Art. She is currently Deputy Director of the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM). She focuses her professional activity on research and construction of contexts of creation, reflection, exhibition, mediation and relationship between the arts and other practical and social spheres. She has worked for public and private projects – Festival Internacional Valencia Escena Oberta (Valencia), Festival Fotonoviembre (TEA, Tenerife), Espai Rambleta, Las Naves, among others… – as well as promoted and co-directed her own initiatives, such as Cine por venir, with a focus on the filmic image and its deviations, or La cuina furtiva, a relational space with eating as a case study.  She was the coordinator of Activities and Education at Bombas Gens Centre d’Art between 2017-2020.
