Laura Pérez Granel 

Laura Pérez Granel (Valencia, 1983) is an illustrator and comic author.   

Her first graphic novel, Náufragos (Salamandra, 2016), created together with screenwriter Pablo Monforte, won the X Premio Internacional de Novela Gráfica Fnac-Salamandra Graphic. On her own, she has published Ocultos (Astiberri, 2019), a work that won the “El Ojo Crítico” Comic Award from Radio Nacional de España, the Best National Album Award at the Splash Sagunt comic festival of the Valencian Community and the Ignotus Award for Best National Comic Book from the Spanish Association of Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror; Tótem (Astiberri, 2021), recognized with the Lorna Award for Best National Comic Book, and Espanto (Astiberri, 2022). She is also the author of the illustrated albums Los secretos de las brujas (2020) and Sirenas de leyenda (2021), both published by Errata Naturae.  

Laura works as an illustrator for national media such as El País, and international media such as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal or The Boston Globe and Vanity Fair and National Geographic magazines, among others. She has also done commissions for institutions such as the World Health Organization or the Valencia City Council.   

In 2022 she was nominated for the Emmy Awards for the credits of the television series Only Murders in the Disney+ building, for which she collaborated with the U.S. studio Elastic.
