Christian Avilés (1997, Barcelona) is a director, screenwriter and composer. La herida luminosa (Daydreaming so vividly about our Spanish holidays) is his first short film and film studies graduation project. It was nominated for Best Short Film at the European Film Awards and was awarded Short of the Year 2023 by the SFC. Having its premiere at Berlinale Shorts, his work has been selected in more than 100 international festivals and has received numerous awards, including the Premi Lluna de València de Cinema Jove. The exhibition rights of his work have been acquired by MUBI, ARTE.TV, Filmin and Movistar+. He is currently in pre-production of his second short film, exploring themes such as adolescent spirituality, desire and magic, linked to his first feature film project now in early stages of development.
