On the upcoming May 23rd at 7 PM, we will unveil the poster for this edition of Cinema Jove. This time, we will be joined by illustrator Laura Wächter, connecting from the United States.

Wächter’s visual style is characterized by a very distinctive color palette, centered around a basic triad of turquoise, pale red, and yellow. She has worked for El Pais, Tusquets, Blackie Books, and Penguin Books. She was awarded the World Illustration Awards in the book cover category for the series of books by Nobel Prize in Literature winner Annie Ernaux.

Get a firsthand look at the poster and its details through a discussion with the author, Laura Wächter, Ada Diez (Cinema Jove Art Director), and moderated by Mireia Pérez. Additionally, you will be able to take home a festival pack with the new image; you’re going to love it.

The event will conclude with the screening of two short films: ‘La herida luminosa’ by Christian Avilés, winner of the Luna de Valencia Award for best short film last edition; and the premiere of ‘Complications’ by Ivar Aase, Official Section 2024.

The event will take place in Sala 7 (Rialto building). We will finish with a DJ set by Hits With Tits and some beers. We look forward to seeing you!
