After the screening of a wide variety of films about electronic music in 2018, Cinema Jove repeats commitment with the Beats and Frames section, offering two eclectic movies that dive into that musical genre from other perspectives: Ecstasy and El Reino. Also, there will be a masterclass from the Best Soundtrack Award Winner at the Goyas, Oliver Arson, and a DJ session at Radio City.
Ecstasy takes us on a trip to the Edimburgh and Amsterdam clubs, with a plot that shows us the dance floors where we can listen to Primal Scream, Orbital or Paul Oakenfold. Even though the choice of the political thriller El Reino may look surprising, it makes more sense when we discover that its soundtrack, all electronic music, is made by Olivier Arson, who won the 2019 Goya for this work.
Arson will perform a masterclass wednesday the 26th at 7 pm showing us the ins and outs of the writing of that soundtrack, with the peculiarity of being electronic music for a thriller. After the screening we will enjoy the screening of El Reino and, from 10:30 pm, a DJ session will start with the following acts: Plaktom, Volumens AV Dj Set, Isis, Camilo San Juan and D_Journalist.
