Chopper Read is a young man who hopes to be remembered as a legendary criminal. After an unsuccessful kidnapping coup, he ends up in jail and sparks off all manner fights among the prisoners. After being released from jail, he goes back to his old ways until he is arrested once again. Back in jail, he writes an exaggerated version of his criminal exploits which becomes a best-seller.
