Un Futuro de Cine: Pol Monen

Although it was almost incidental, Pol Monen (Barcelona, 1994) was an ‘Almodóvar boy’. He was just a child, but was part of the famous boarding school scenes the Manchegan director filmed for La mala educación. The experience was decisive to push the Catalonian actor that resides in Madrid to the film industry, where he had some smaller roles until producer Esteban Crespo gave him his big breakthrough as the main character in Amar, for which he was nominated for the Best New Actor Goya Award in 2018.

Since then he has been continuously working in films (as José Coronado’s son in Tu hijo and in this year’s comedy Salir del ropero, among other work) and television (Vivir sin permiso on Telecinco and La reina del sur for Telemundo). This year, he has also starred in Jota Linares’ film for Netflix, ¿A quién te llevarías a una isla desierta? together with Jaime Lorente and María Pedraza.
